Before discussing the benefits of using CentOS 7 and checking the CentOS 7 Tutorials Center page on OrcaCore, look at its origin first. Released in May 2004, CentOS is a free and open-source operating system (OS) distribution based on the Linux kernel. The complete system was built from the ground up using the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) source code. CentOS's primary goal is to be a free, enterprise-grade computing platform 100% binary compatible with its primary source, Red Hat.
