Canonical introduced the next Ubuntu version, Ubuntu 24.04, with the codename Noble Numbat which will be released on 25 April 2024. It will be the 10th LTS release and receive the 5 years of security updates, bug fixes, etc. Also, Ubuntu Pro adds 5 years of security coverage on top to give modern LTS releases a mind-blowing decade of support.

Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat – Upcoming Features and Expectations
At this point, we want to discuss the upcoming features and expectations of this newly introduced Ubuntu version. It is expected that Ubuntu 24.04 has a Gnome 46 Desktop environment, Mesa 23.3 graphics stack, and probably Linux 6.8 kernel series.
Also, we expect, Ubuntu 24.04 will have GNU/Linux technologies such as GCC 13.2, GNU C Library 2.39, Ruby 3.2, and more.
Now you can download the first Ubuntu 24.04 daily build from the official website. The daily builds are available in Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, and many of the official Ubuntu flavors. Also, they are supported on 64-bit (amd64) and AArch64 (ARM64) platforms.
It is recommended not to use the daily builds on a production machine, they are just for testing and also have bugs and issues. You can wait until the future LTS Ubuntu 24.04 version comes.
